"The result of a Costa Rican-Swiss encounter, Atípico Costa Rica was born in 2020 in the village of Ojochal, at the gateway to the Osa Peninsula. At that time, Fernanda, an architect as passionate about her profession as she is about her country, and Simon, a recent graduate with a master's degree in Tourism Studies from Switzerland, shared a common ambition: to create a local, family-run, multicultural travel agency dedicated to promoting Costa Rica's natural and cultural heritage internationally.
Driven by a perceptive and daring spirit, they transformed the pandemic not into an obstacle, but into an opportunity. An opportunity to rethink travel, support local tourism, and build a more sustainable model. These months of limbo were also an opportunity to travel through an almost empty country, rediscover it with fresh eyes, and imagine experiences that are truly worth having. "
